After going through the contents of the letter, the DB observed, “the information provided in the letter is of great public importance and specific allegations against Chief Executive Officer Katra Development Authority give an impression that he is hand in glove with those, who are raising illegal constructions around the Railway Station Katra”.
Impleading Divisional Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner, Reasi as respondents, the DB issued notice to them returnable within four weeks with the directions to personally visit the spot and verify the facts regarding unauthorized constructions being carried out in and around Railway Station Katra.
The DB has also directed the Divisional Commissioner to file status report on his own affidavit on or before the next date. The Divisional Commissioner Jammu and Deputy Commissioner Reasi have also been directed to ensure that no illegal construction is carried out any more. “The lapse on their part in compliance to the order will be taken seriously”, the DB said.
In the letter, it has been mentioned that illegal constructions are being carried out around the upcoming Railway Station, which according to complainant, is within the knowledge of Katra Development Authority. It has further been alleged that a big land mafia has constructed shops/ hotels around the Railway Station Katra and all these constructions start at night and end in the early morning.
The complainant has alleged that Katra Development Authority headed by Chief Executive Officer has turned blind eye towards all these violations.
It is pertinent to mention here that following directions from the High Court in a case titled residents of Ward No.3 Katra Versus State, Reasi district administration had imposed complete ban on the constructions in violation of Master Plan.
