JAMMU, Dec 20: The executive members of Jammu Kashmir Private Schools Coordination Committee (JKPSCC), led by its President Rameshwar Singh Manhas, called on the Principal Secretary School Education B K Singh and raised various issues regarding the problems being faced by private schools in J&K.
The President JKPSCC raised the issue of various NOCs required for the grant of affiliation cum recognition of schools. He also raised the issue of granting affiliation cum recognition atleast for 10 years for the schools.
The working President JKPSCC, Dr Hari Dutt Shishu drew the attention of Principal Secretary towards the reopening of schools as has been done in other States of the country. Sangeet Kumar Sharma, General Secretary JKPSCC, raised the issue of financial crunch being faced by schools amid Covid 19 pandemic.
The Principal Secretary heard the issues raised by the delegation patiently and assured that the Govt is committed to re-open the schools at the earliest. Meanwhile the schools would be permitted to organize community classes in private schools as well so that the children may be involved in educational, social and cultural interactions, he added.
He also assured the delegation that the demand of 10 years of recognition cum affiliation is genuine and will be considered so that the school managements can be involved in school activities rather than pursuing their files in various departments.
Principal Secretary informed that the various discrepancies in the online portal for recognition of schools have been resolved and there shall be a single inspection for affiliation cum recognition as per the previous practice.
The delegation comprised of Dr Munish Gulati, G S Katal, Yog Raj Sharma, Vijay Basur, Rammurti, Balkaran Singh, Dheeraj Gupta and Dr Hitesh Mahajan.
