Notorious thief arrested; stolen ornaments, cash recovered

JAMMU, Dec 21: Sainik Colony police arrested a notorious thief and recovered stolen gold and silver ornaments viz cash.
As per police sources, information was received at Police Post Sainik Colony about the theft of gold and silver ornaments viz cash from a residential room.
Acting over the information, a case under FIR Number 196/2021 under Section 454 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Channi Himmat and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Channi Himmat led by SHO Inspector Deepak Katoch and assisted by Incharge Police Post Sainik Colony PSI Mohammad Younis Khanday was constituted.
The team did strenuous efforts and with the help of CCTV cameras footages of the area finally arrested the thief, who was identified as Paras Dubey, son of late Om Parkash, a resident of Nomain Tehsil Katra District Reasi. On his disclosure, stolen gold and silver ornaments viz Rs 15000 cash were recovered.
It is pertinent to mention that the said accused person is a habitual thief and has been previously involved in FIR Number 21/2021 under Sections 457 and 380 IPC registered at Police Station Channi Himmat Jammu and FIR Number 99/2021 under Sections 382 and 34 IPC registered at Police Station Janipur.
Further investigation into the case is going on and criminal history of the said accused person is being ascertained.
The overall arrest and recoveries were made under the supervision of SP City South Deepak Digra.
