BHADERWAH, Dec 22: Former MLC Vikramaditya Singh visited temples and shrines in Bhaderwah and interacted with priests and local population.
Singh, who is also the Trustee of J&K Dharmarth Trust, gave directions for installing clear glass donation boxes to ensure transparency and wane off doubts among stakeholders and those visiting these temples and shrines with undaunted faith.
He visited Vasuki Nag Temples at Gatha and Nagar; Shri Ganpat Temple, Gupt Ganga Temple, Mata Atharabhuja Temple and Mahakali Temple in Bhaderwah Fort and took stock of the facilities being provided to devotees besides getting firsthand information about the grievances of Dharmarth Trust employees including Pujaris and Bhajantaries.
Singh also reviewed the revenue record and laid stress on its proper upkeep. He also participated in the Aarti at Vasuki Nag Temple at Nagar and prayed for peace and progress of J&K.
Speaking on the occasion, Vikramaditya said that these temples and shrines are the testimony of rich cultural and religious legacy of the region and Dharmarth Trust remained at forefront to preserve the same since last over a century after Maharaja Gulab Singh of the erstwhile J&K State established it for upkeep and preservation of temples and other shrines.
He said that from time to time management of the Trust brought in changes to ensure transparency and efficiency in the working and improving the infrastructure of Trust’s temples and Shrines for the visiting devotees.
