Delimitation Commission’s proposal for 7 new seats not acceptable: Shia Federation

JAMMU, Dec 22: President of Shia Federation Jammu Ashiq Hussain Khan today said that the Delimitation Commission proposal for new 7 seats in Jammu and Kashmir is not acceptable due to its biased intentions.
Addressing a press conference, Khan expressed his anguish over the proposal of Delimitation Commission. He said this report is not meeting the expectations of common masses of J&K. As we all were expecting that the justice with every community according to their population will be done, but nothing has been done so.
“For last 70 years the Muslims especially from Jammu, Samba, Kathua and Udhampur has been neglected in political sphere. The Shia community which is more than 12 lakh in J&K has also been neglected in this report,” he said and termed the draft report of Delimitation Commission biased which reflects to give benefit a single party for meeting their own interest.
Khan said a long pending demand of the community is Shia Waqaf Board in J&K which has already got nod from Central Government but UT Government has done nothing in this regard. The Government is not even taking seriously the issues of Shia community, he added.
Khan appealed the Muslims of Jammu province to get unite for their due right. He also appealed the Union Government of India to look into this matter seriously and give due share to everyone according to their population size. He appealed the Government to take a positive step which can be better for peace and harmony in the masses.
