JAMMU, Dec 22: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta today appealed to the Government for implementing in letter and spirit the Minimum Wages Act in J&K and ex-gratia relief to next kin of (NoK) of those daily wagers who lost their lives while on duty.
The BJP leader also asked the Government to resolve the issues of PDD employees once and for all by ensuring one-time settlement. In a statement issued to media, Kavinder made it a point that the issues of daily wagers and PDD employees have been gifted to the incumbent administration by the successive dispensations in the erstwhile State of J&K but since the fate of masses is involved the Government should act swiftly in the matter and resolve all the lingering issues once and for all.
He said that daily wagers have been appointed by the successive governments but the incumbent administration should do something to resolve their issues fast and fervently. He said that the Government should also provide adequate relief to the NoKs of deceased daily wagers who lost their lives while on duty. He also demanded that the Government should regularize the daily wagers who fall in the criteria for regularization after completing the minimum tenure of jobs.
He said that the Government should not delay the regularization as youth are suffering due to the mistakes of successive governments.
Kavinder said that BJP Government led by PM, Narendra Modi will not allow injustice with youth therefore whosoever is eligible for job will be given the same and the Government should not waste time to take decision in this matter. He said that PDD employees should also get justice and the Government should find out via media to sort out their issue by going for a one-time settlement.
