Govt deliberately ignoring problems of migrants: JTC

JAMMU, Dec 22: The Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) today accused the Government of deliberately avoiding to settle the long pending demands of displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
The JTC and SKF whose activists are on protest for 446 days at Jagti township reiterated their demand of enhancing cash relief from Rs 13,000 per family per month to Rs 25,000.
Addressing protestors Shadi Lal Pandita president of the two organizations and convener, PCC Migrant Cell said that due to the indifferent attitude of the Government Kashmiri Pandits are facing hardships from every side. He demanded immediate settlement of the demands of the displaced people. Besides, hike in cash relief he demanded a job package of 20,000 Government jobs for displaced Pandit youth with 5000 class fourth posts as well.
Pandita demanded on spot recruitment of migrant youth in police at Jagti and other camp as well as non camp areas, with release of balance ex-gratia, compensation to over aged youth, restoration of migrant property as well as property of religious places of Pandits and compensation of lost crops during last over 30 years to displaced agriculturists.
