JAMMU, Dec 22: Department of Mathematics, Jaypee University of Information Technology, Waknaghat in association with HIMCOSTE, Government of HP organized various events like quiz and poster competition.
On the occasion, welcome speech was given by program coordinator Dr Tiratha Raj Singh.
Vice Chancellor, Prof RK Sharma addressed the students and focused on the importance of education and learning. HoD Mathematics Prof Karanjeet Singh addressed the students and focused on the life of great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan and importance of Mathematics.
Invited speakers Dr Ziya Uddin and Dr DN Pandey delivered the lecture during this event in a technical session. This session was chaired by program Co-cordinators Dr Ragini Raj Singh and Dr Bhupendra Pathak.
Prof PB Barman, HoD, Physics and Materials Science and Prof Sudhir Kumar, HoD, BT and BI announced the winners of poster and quiz competitions respectively.
Dr Rakesh Bajaj gave the concluding remarks and finally at the end of the event Dr Bhupendra Pathak presented the vote of thanks.
More than 260 students registered and participated in events. 85 students participated in quiz competition while 70 posters were submitted for the poster competitions. Winners were from Government Model Senior Secondary School Shoghi, Government Girls Senior Secondary School Rampur, Sishu Vidhya Niketan Public School, Nahan, Springdale Public School, Rampur, and Government Model Senior Secondary School, Junga.
HIMCOSTE, Government of HP supported this event and is catalyzed and supported by DST, Government of India. Hundreds of school students and teachers from various parts of Himachal Pradesh and India were connected online to participate in this event. This event is coordinated by Dr. Tiratha Raj Singh.
