CAPD asks consumers to lodge complaint for denial of LPG home delivery

JAMMU, July 31: Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department (CA&PD) has asked the consumers not to pay more than Rs 421 for the subsidized and Rs 877. 50 for the non-subsidized cylinders and complain to the department in case of overcharging or denial of home delivery by the distributor.
The Department has informed the general public that the gas agencies have been asked to ensure 100 percent home delivery of the LPG gas in Jammu city and all major towns of the region as point delivery of LPG cylinders has been done away with.
All District and Tehsil heads of CA&PD have been directed to ensure strict enforcement of the rates and home delivery services in their respective areas and take action against the distributors found violating the norms.
The department has also urged the Indian Oil Companies state level coordinator to direct all the Gas Agency Holders, Distributors to ensure the 100 percent home delivery of the LPG.
The department has warned the Gas Distributors against violation of set norms, including the rates of the LPG of different categories.
Meanwhile, the department has further informed that it is issuing   Kerosene in the Municipal limit of Jammu city through mobile tankers at notified places in the print media in advance @ Rs 15.37 per litre and rest of the area of Jammu province through the retail Kerosene approved dealers of department at a scale of 05 liters per ration card per month approved by the concerned Deputy Commissioners.
In this regard all District and Tehsil heads of CA&PD have been asked to ensure that Kerosene is distributed to the public at the approved rates and scale.
