Tributes paid to Shaheed-e-Azam Udham Singh

JAMMU, July 31: Various organisations remembered Shaheed-e-Azam Udham Singh on his 73rd martyrdom day, today and paid floral tributes to the revolutionary leader, who killed the main culprit of Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, General Dyre, in London and smilingly licked the death sentence on July 31, 1940.
Hundreds of activists of National Panthers Party (NPP) today gathered at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi to pay highest tributes to Shaheed-e-Azam Udham Singh for his supreme sacrifice.
Addressing the Panthers Party activists, Prof Bhim Singh, Supremo of the Panthers Movement and Chief Patron of Rashtriya Chetna Abhiyan called on the youth and students to strengthen the movement so that the correct history of the freedom movement is recorded and taught in the country.
The Panthers Party activists announced that the Rashtriya Chetna Abhiyan launched by the Party will reach every corner of the country and knock at every door of the students and youth with the awakening call to free India from corruption, communalism, criminalization and authoritarianism.
J&K Freedom Fighters’ Association (JKFFA) remembered the martyr Udham Singh by organizing an impressing function held at Government College for Women, Parade.
Joint Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Kapil Sharma, was the chief guest while Kuldeep Singh, ARTO, Jammu, CS Balloria and Sunil Kerni were the guests of honour, who paid floral tributes to the Shaheed-e-Azam Udham Singh, who sacrificed his life for the motherland.
The speakers exhorted the youth to come forward and give an honest leadership to the country.
On the martyrdom of Udham Singh, National Secular Forum (NSF) organized a programme in Jammu University to pay tributes to the great martyr.
Prof Shohab Malik, Rector of Kishtwar Campus, University of Jammu, was the chief guest while Dr Vikas Sharma presided over the function. Sukhdev Singh, president, NSF, Dr Shafqat Malik, and Akshey Sharma, General Secretary NSF, were the guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Shohab Malik, threw light on the supreme sacrifice of the great martyr. Dr Vikas Sharma also spoke on the occasion.
