JAMMU, Dec 24: The Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K have been on protest, sit-in for 448th days demanding increase in the monthly cash assistance of relief holders from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000.
Addressing the protestors Shadi Lal Pandita, president JTC, SKF and convener of PCC Migrant Cell said that the State and Central Government should meet all the demands of Kashmiri Pandits immediately. Pandita said the demands for which JTC and SKF have been protesting for 448 days included increasing the monthly cash relief, 20,000 jobs be given to the migrant unemployed youth, recruiting Kashmiri migrant unemployed youth in police force by holding on-spot recruitment drive at Jagti township and at other migrant camps, compensation and interest free bank loans be given to over aged migrant youth.
Besides, illegal encroachment of Kashmiri Pandits land and property as well as on the land of religious places should be removed, five Assembly seats, three Parliament seats should be reserved for Kashmiri pandits and Sikhs, migrants should be compensated for loss of 32 years of land, gardens ,gutted, damaged houses and looted properties, rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir Valley near Baramull, Srinagar and Anantnag ,for which three satellites township should be built in Kashmir valley immediately.
