JAKFAS discusses Accounts officers’ burning issues

JAMMU, Dec 24: The first general body meeting, after the newly elected executive body of Jammu & Kashmir Finance & Accounts Society (JAKFAS) took over the charge, was held today at Finance complex, Jammu under the presidentship of the Iftikhar Hussain Chauhan, Director Finance, School Education Department.
The president JAKFAS apprised the members that various issues like grant of assured career progression, induction in IAS, common pool posts of HODs and amongst others confronting the Accounts cadre stands submitted to the higher authorities including the Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner (ACS), Finance Department.
He also mentioned regarding meeting of JAKFAS delegation with Chief Secretary to apprise about long pending issues of Accounts cadre especially Assured Career Progression (ACP).
Chauhan urged the members for their support and close coordination so that all the issues could be redressed in a time bound manner. He assured the members that the Society will work hard for the betterment of the accounts cadre and also take up the social issues like abuse of psychotropic substances among adolescents, organising seminars/ workshops for DDOs at district level and financial literacy camps in the coming days. He assured to work on issues presented by officers related to training policy, calender of events, welfare fund, preferential treatment of two services ignoring Finance cadre and reorganization of Accounts cadre.
Members stationed at Srinagar & others who could not attend the meeting in person attended it through virtual mode. Among others who spoke on the occasion were Director General Audit & Inspection, Fayaz Lone; Director General Budget, Yaqoob Itoo; while Director General Funds Organisation, Pervaiz Sajad attended the meeting virtually.
