RAJOURI, Dec 25: Police claimed to have solved a case of theft that took place in Thanger village of Beri Pattan, under the jurisdiction of Sunderbani Police Station.
Alleged thief has been arrested and stolen property worth Rs one lakh has also been recovered from his possession.
A case FIR 107/2021 under section 454, 380 IPC was registered in this connection following which an investigation team headed by SHO Sunderbani SD Singh developed some clues and detained the suspect namely Chander Pal, son of Lt Labbu Ram, resident of Thanger.
During questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the crime. On his disclosure, police recovered the stolen cash from his house. Further investigation into the matter is still going on.
