JAMMU, Dec 26: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Dy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta while taking the Congress leader, Ghulam Nabi Azad head on for his statement that Maharajas’ rule was better than that of the present Government asked him to turn the pages of history and see how Maharaja Hari Singh was disgraced by Congress Party by thrusting exile upon him by the first PM Jawahar Lal Nehru who is responsible for all the mess of terrorism and separatism that destroyed the peaceful fabric of the erstwhile State of J&K for decades.
He said that today when the Government has reversed the so called movement of J&K’s secession and disintegration of the nation Azad is turning a blind eye towards the realities just for the purpose of opposing the BJP and its Government at the Centre.
Coming down heavily on Azad, Kavinder Gupta questioned him as to why he is unable to see the ground realities. He reminded Azad that stone pelting that was in vogue in the Valley till yesteryears has gone away, the terrorism graph has gone down with security forces showing no mercy for the terrorists besides the unprecedented developmental works across the Union Territory that too going at an unprecedented pace. The development of highways, expressways and other infrastructure bears testimony to the performance of the incumbent Government that has successfully brought this terrorist infested region out of the morass of yesteryears.
Why can’t Azad see thousands of youth in Kashmir queuing up for recruitment in Army, BSF and other belt forces and appreciate the change in ground situation, he questioned.
The senior BJP leader said “You can’t oppose every step including that on Durbar Move taken by the Government just for the sake of opposing”,. He said that the erstwhile State of J&K had been plunged into uncertainty by Nehru in league with Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah due to their wrong policies and vested interests.
