CPI celebrates Foundation day

JAMMU, Dec 26: Communist Party of India (CPI) Jammu and Kashmir State Council today celebrated its 97th Foundation Day here at its headquarters, Dhanwantari Bhawan, Jammu. Majority of State Council members and others affiliated bodies leaders also joined the function.
The programme was held under the leadership of Abdul Rahman Tukroo, CPI State Secretary J&K and former MLC.
The celebration function started with observing two minutes silence for the comrades who struggle hard for the working class and sacrificed their lives for the welfare of common people. The participants also paid tributes to the farmers, who lost their lives in one year long farmers protest.
Rakesh Sharma conducted all the proceedings in the event. Regional Secretary Kashmir, Ghulam Mohd Mizrab spoke about the historical struggle and sacrifices of CPI and its workers and leaders, and he also briefly described the history of the Communists Party of India. Former Regional Council Secretary Jammu Naresh Munshi also spoke on the occasion and stressed upon the party workers to strengthen the party in Jammu and Kashmir.
Tukroo greeted the participants for Party’s 97th Foundation Day and stressed to work hard for the working class as the facist regime in the country is at full swing and the communists are the only option to fight against them.
He further appealed to the young cadre and others in the party to fight hard as the youngsters are the future of the nation and they are the symbol of change and said that the democratic way is the only way to fight against the atrocities of the BJP led regime.
The leaders on the occasion also congratulated Jammu Kashmir Power Development Department (JKPDD) employees for their remarkable victory.
Ashwani Kapoor, Rajinder Kumar, Mukesh Parihar Sarazi, Junaid, Sohil, Surjeet Thakur, Ranbir Singh and a number of others also joined the program. Rakesh Sharma presented formal vote of thanks.
