JAMMU, Aug 1: A delegation of National Secular Forum (NSF) today called on Vice Chancellor Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar and presented him a memorandum of demands highlighting various issues of the students.
In the memorandum, the NSF has sought streamlining of all the contractual appointments in the University in accordance with the workload in each department and priority to JU candidates.
The NSF also demanded that vacant posts of Teaching and Non-Teaching in Departments of all the campuses should be filled up and pending interviews of advertised posts may be conducted immediately.
The VC was urged to ensure that latest UGC rules and regulations should be followed in the selection procedures for the Asstt Professors and other permanent staff.
The NSF delegation impressed upon the VC to solve the problems of each and every student of the university on priority basis, including the hostel boarders.
The VC gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured a positive consideration to all the demands within a short period of time.
The deputation comprised of Sukhdev Singh, Sunny Babber, Balveer Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Pardeep Kumar, Somdutt, and others.
