JAMMU: Amid rains, a fresh batch of 276 pilgrims today left for the holy Shri Amarnath cave shrine in South Kashmir and 748 pilgrims left for Shri Buddha Amarnath cave shrine in district Poonch from Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar base camp in this winter capital of the state.
“A batch comprising 169 males, 23 females and 84 sadhus this morning left for the Amarnath cave shrine from here in a convoy of eight vehicles including private and SRTC buses,” an official spokesman here said.
Meanwhile, 748 pilgrims left for Shri Buddha Amarnath Cave Shrine situated in Poonch district of the state.
A total of 504 males, 240 females and four children left for the shrine in a convoy of 23 vehicles comprising 18 state run buses and five private.
The yatra was flagged off this morning from the base camp. (AGENCIES)
