Gupta for alternate land to Gharana farmers

JAMMU, Dec 31: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) vice president of Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary Constituency, Rajesh Gupta along with senior AAP leaders here today visited Gharana Wetland to take a first-hand appraisal of the situation.
AAP leaders extended support to farmers affected by the Government initiative to develop the place as a favourite destination for migratory birds visiting the country from Europe and other places.
They held discussion with a group of affected farmers and assured them full support.
The AAP leaders vowed to take up the matter with J&K Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha and other concerned quarters for an amicable resolution.
Gupta said that the Government should not test the patience of farming community as they were prepared for any kind of sacrifice to get justice.
“Government’s adamant attitude, vis-à-vis the demand of affected farmers seeking compensation in form of alternate land, is not proper,” he maintained.
Other AAP leaders who visited Gharana Wetland were Sunny Kant Chib, AAP youth president Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat; Joginder Singh Chib, Virji Kachroo, Anil Sharma and Parvinder Singh.
