RAMBAN, Jan 1: Former MLA, Ashok Kumar along with Chenab Valley Safai Karmchari Union strongly staged protest demonstration against the Director of Urban Local Bodies, here today.
While staging protest, he expressed serious concerns over the repetitive ignorance by the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in regularizing casual laborers engaged in Municipal Committees and Councils in all urban local bodies of Chenab Valley.
Ashok said that the casual laborers are protesting from the last four days however, no heed is paid by Director ULB towards beavered daily wagers who earned merely 225 rupees on daily basis.
Ashok has urged upon the Government to provide immediate justice to these casual laborers and demanded enhancement of honorarium of the causal laborers engaged in different Municipal Committees and Councils in Union Territory of J&K.
He said with meagre wages the survival of their families and livelihood becomes a herculean task. It is a great injustice to Safai Karmcharis.
