6 drug peddlers arrested with contraband

JAMMU, Jan 3: RS Pura, Domana, City, Gandhi Nagar and Narwal Police arrested six drug peddlers along with contraband.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station RS Pura led by SHO Inspector Jai Pal Sharma laid a naka and intercepted a vehicle.
During checking, police team recovered 15 grams heroin and 160 grams cannabis and apprehended two drug peddlers travelling in the vehicle.
The arrested persons were identified as Vijay Kumar, son of Ashok Kumar of RS Pura and Parvinder Singh, son of Kulbir Singh of Chohalla RS Pura.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Domana led by SHO Inspector Mahesh Sharma and assisted by PSI Sumit Sharma during patrolling duty near Muthi Camp apprehended a drug peddler along with 6 grams heroin. The arrested person was identified as Manpreet Singh, son of Balwant Singh of Top Paloura, District Jammu.
Similarly, teams from Police Station City led by SHO Inspector Vijay Kumar and Police Station Gandhi Nagar led by SHO Inspector Pankaj Sharma during patrolling duty in their respective areas arrested two drug peddlers identified as Anuj Dube, son of Uttam Chand of Lower Mastgarh District Jammu and Ashwani Kumar alias Patti, son of late Kamal Kumar of Nanak Nagar District Jammu along with 15 grams heroin.
In another similar case, a team from Police Post Narwal led by SI Achal Rana under the supervision of SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Nayat Ali apprehended a drug peddler along with 82 grams cannabis.
The arrested person was identified as Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, son of Mohammad Maqbool Sheikh, a resident of District Ganderbal.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Stations RS Pura, Domana, City, Gandhi Nagar and Bahu Fort and investigation started.
The overall arrest and recoveries were made under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan, SDPO Domana Sunil Singh, SDPO North Sharad Kalu, SDPO South P K Mengi and SDPO East Sajad Sarwar respectively.
