SRINAGAR, Jan 4: The ICDS Supervisors across J&K are facing immense hardships as they are without salary for the last 3 months despite their work on the ground for the implementation of the centrally sponsored schemes across the UT.
J&K ICDS Supervisor’s Union President Abida Var told Excelsior that despite their work, they are made to suffer by the authorities who are turning a blind eye towards their issues.
“The Supervisors are working with zeal and zest which is evident from the successful implementations of centrally-sponsored programs like PMMVY and Poshan Abhiyan,” she said.
She said that the ICDS Supervisors worked hard during the Covid-19 pandemic in all respects, “but, unfortunately, the supervisors who are working on the ground are without salary for the last 3 months now,” she said.
JKICDS Supervisor’s Union President said that their families are suffering and are unable to make their ends meet as they have been left in the lurch by the authorities who are pretending to be unaware of their issues.
“How can the authorities expect best results if the basic right of an employee is delayed,” she said.
Abida Var urged the LG Manoj Sinha and the Chief Secretary including other concerned officials to intervene in the matter and take steps aimed at releasing their pending salary.
She also demanded immediate de-linking of the Supervisor’s salary from CSS to state share to streamline the release of the monthly salary of ICDS Supervisors.
