JAMMU, Jan 4: J&K Dharmarth Trust and Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Jammu today decided that both the organizations will jointly work towards improving the facilities at the temples and shrines run by Dharmarth Trust and shall approach the Government to take-up rejuvenation of these religious destinations especially Shri Raghhunath ji Temple under Smart City Project.
The issue was discussed threadbare by both the organizations during a meeting at J&K Dharmarth Trust Office. President of Dharmarth Trust Ajay Gandotra (Advocate) and CCI Jammu president Arun Gupta along with their teams were present on the occasion.
During the discussion, Arun Gupta said that the temples under the Trust are the testimony to the rich cultural heritage of the region and it is the collective responsibility of the Government, people and all those entities which have a stake to look after these temples and shrines with full potential. He said that Ragghunath Ji Temple symbolizes the legacy of J&K’s majestic past and there is a world famous market in its name therefore popularizing the place will have many prolific outcomes including boosting trade and economy.
Ajay Gandotra said that Dharmarth Trust has an impeccable track record of taking care of the temples and shrines in Jammu and Kashmir and showing world class hospitality to the visiting devotees who at times come from across the country and even from abroad. He said that Trust intends to use the open space in Raghunath ji Temple complex for best utilization for public interest and demanded that security pickets inside Raghunath ji Temple should be removed and frisking should be optimal to raise the sense of security among the devotees as the current practice is a bit harsh leading to apprehensions among the minds of visitors.
Gandotra also asserted that the permanently stationed ITBP Battalion and Police Post Hari Market should also be removed from the Temple premises. He said, if required, the security personnel should be kept for duty hours only.
