Relatives protest at GMC as pregnant woman dies

RAJOURI, Jan 4: The relatives and family members held protest against Medical staff as pregnant woman allegedly died during surgery at GMC Hospital Rajouri last night.
Official sources said that at around 3 pm on Monday (Jan 3) a pregnant woman namely, Shakeela Begum (30), wife of Mohd Younis, resident of Agarati was brought to GMC Rajouri and was admitted to Gyn Ward. During late last night she was sent to operation theater by concerned doctor for operation. But during surgery she died.
Later, when relatives and family members came to know about her death, they held a protest against the doctors and other medical staff of GMC. They were alleging that the said lady has died due to negligence and carelessness of concerned medical staff and doctor.
The police and senior doctors of GMC then pacified the protestors on the assurance that legal action will be taken against the after holding proper enquiry. Later, they took away the body of the deceased to their home after completion of all the legal formalities.
