POONCH, Jan 5: In order to take first hand review of the grievances of people due to bad weather conditions and snowfall at upper reaches of Poonch, a team of National Conference headed by former MLA and Youth NC Provincial president, Ajaz Jan visited several snow bound areas of the district today.
The visiting leaders interacted with several villagers of these areas who informed about the severe crisis of basic amenities.
The NC leaders hit at the present administration and said that it is for the first time that no stocking of Kerosene Oil has been made in the snow bound areas while carelessness of authorities concerned can be gauged from the fact that not even stocking of ration has been made.
They further said that the condition of rural areas roads is turning dilapidated and authorities have done nothing to tackle situation emerging after snowfall except establishing control rooms on papers.
“Even snow cutter machines are not available at most of snow bound areas which clearly show that no effort were made in case roads get blocked,” Jan said.
He lambasted Power Development Department for failure to ensure rectification of damaged power transformers. He appealed LG administration of Jammu and Kashmir to intervene in the situation.
