MGSB to support agitation for holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh Jayanti

JAMMU, Jan 5: Maharaja Gulab Singh Brigade (MGSB) here today extended full support to Yuva Rajput Sabha’s call for agitation in support of the demand for declaring holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh Jayanti.
In a handout Anil Singh Rakwal, president MGSB said: “We want holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh’s birthday so the Government should declare a public holiday on September 23 failing which a massive agitation will be launched from January 10 to press the authorities for the cause and MGSB shall actively participate in the agitation.”
Meanwhile, a meeting of Yuva Rajput Sabha led by its president, Ranjan Singh chaired a meeting organized by Balbir Singh, Sarpanch Sohajana wherein the demand for declaring holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh Jayanti was reiterated.
Speakers in the meeting decided to launch a massive agitation on January 10 from the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh at Tawi Bridge Jammu to press the authorities to declare public holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji—the last Hindu ruler of erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir State.
