KATHUA, Jan 7: Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP, R C Kotwal today seized approximately10 liters of illicit liquor in the jurisdictional area of Police Station (PS) Kathua and arrested one person in this connection.
Police said a team led by Inspector, O P Chib, SHO, PS Kathua under the supervision of DySP Headquarters, Kathua, Shammi Kumar during patrolling duty in its jurisdictional area noticed one person was roaming in suspicious circumstances.
During his checking the police team recovered 10 liters of illicit liquor from his illegal possession which he has kept in order to gain wrongfully. He was apprehended on spot. He was identified as Johny, son of Dharma Paul of Chack Drab Khan, Kathua tehsil & district. All the recovered consignment of illicit liquor was seized.
A case vide FIR No.07/2022 U/S 48 (A) Excise Act was registered in the Kathua Police Station and further investigation has been initiated.
