4 cops among 7 hurt in accidents

JAMMU, Aug 4: Four police personnel were among seven persons injured in two separate road accidents in Rajouri and Kathua districts today.
A police spokesman said that four policemen deployed on Shri Buddha Amarnath Yatra were injured when their vehicle over turned on the road near Bathuni in Rajouri this afternoon. All the four injured indentified as Havaldar Bishan Dass, Constables Girdhari Lal, Rakesh Kumar and Ashok Kumar were shifted to Rajouri Hospital. They were out of danger.
A report from Kathua said that three youth were seriously injured after they were hit by an unknown vehicle near Kalibari on Jammu-Pathankote National Highway this evening. Residents of the area rushed all the three victims to district Hospital, Kathua. The Medical staff provided first aid and then referred all of them to GMC Hospital, Jammu.
The victims were identified Rakesh Kumar and Ashok Kumar of Jathana and Subash Chander of Billawar. Rakesh was driving while two others were sitting with him on his bike No. PB 35F/2536. The police registered a case and started investigation.
