SAMBA, Jan 9 : District Police Samba has arrested a bootlegger and recovered 52 bottles (180 ml each) of illicit liquor in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Samba today.
A police party of PS Samba during its vehicle checking at SIDCO Chowk Naka here , intercepted a Motorcycle bearing Registration Number PB10CB/1595 which was coming from Samba side and moving towards Mansar Morh.
On checking, a total of 52 bottles of JK Special Desi Whisky of 180 ml each were recovered from the possession of motorcyclist.
The accused person identified as Raman Kumar, son of Khajoor Chand of Tanth (Nud) tehsil and district Samba has been arrested and the illicit liquor also seized.
The accused was carrying illicit liquor for its sale at exorbitant rates in the Nud area to gain illegitimate profit.
A case FIR No. 06/2022 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act was registered at PS Samba and investigation started.
