Raina, Bhalla, Kavinder, GOC join celebrations

JAMMU/ SRINAGAR, Jan 9: The 355th Parkash Parv (birth anniversary) of Tenth Guru Sri Gobind Singh Ji was celebrated with great religious fervour and gaiety across J&K today.
A grand function in this connection was held under the supervision of Mahant Manjit Singh of Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch at Gurdwara Digiana Ashram Jammu today. The people from all walks of life participated in large number and paid the obeisance. The Ragi Jatha Giani Sukhdev Singh from Ludhiana, Dr Gurpreet Singh Parcharak from Amritsar, Bhai Harvinder Singh Parcharak- Jammu, Giani Bachan Singh Ragi Jatha Digiana, Giani Daljit Singh from Jammu, Giani Ranjit Singh from UP, Ragi Jatha Jammu and Giani Hardeep Singh Ragi Jatha, Jammu recited Shabad Kirtan and threw light on the sacrifices of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
Guru Gobind Singh Ji sacrificed his beloved sons, mother, father and many other Sikh warriors for righteousness and humanity.

BJP president from J&K UT Ravinder Raina, former Minister and PCC working president Raman Bhalla, ex-Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta, Sudershan Singh Wazir, Chairman Sikh United Front J&K and Khalid Hussain ex-DC spoke on the occasion and greeted the people.
They said younger sons Jorawar Singh and Fateh Singh were tortured and bricked alive in sihind, whereas two elder sons Ajit Singh and Jujhar Singh attained martyrdom in the battle of Chamkaur in Punjab.
Guru Gobind Singh Ji alone is known as a spiritual Hero who fought in defence of righteousness. The world has never seen a man, a divine Messenger, a warrior, a prophet, an emperor as great as Guru Gobind Singh. He is often revered as Sabans Dani (Merciful donor who sacrificed his all). The Parkash Parv celebrated as decided by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandak Committee Amritsar and Akal Takhat Sahib, the supreme seat of authority in Sikhism.
The speakers from the stage gave reminder to the Government of JKUT as well as Government of India and projected demands. It is also demanded that the qouta for refugee unemployed youths be fixed in recruitment at par with other reservations for SC/ST categories. The Punjabi language be given the status of official language as LG of Jammu and Kashmir UT had promised. Out of eight seats for Assembly and two seats for Parliament, four seats of Assembly and one of Parliament be allotted to Sikhs of Jammu province and four seats of Assembly and one of Parliament be allotted to Sikhs of Kashmir province.
It was also demanded that the quota for recruitment be fixed to provide the job to educated unemployed who belong to Sikh minority community. The representation to a Sikh be given in the J&K Service Selection Board and as a Sikh advisor. It was also demanded that the pending rehabilitation Rs 24.5 lakh out of Rs 30 lakhs be released in favour of refugees of Pakistan occupied Kashmir who were displaced from PoK in 1947 as promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an election rally in Jammu and Kashmir.
Similar functions were held at Taraf Sanji, Kathua Gurdwara and Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Sunderbani, where a large n umber of devotes participated.
Gurpurab was today celebrated across Kashmir with religious gaiety while the biggest event on the occasion was organized at Gurudwara Chattipadhshai in the Rainawari area of Srinagar.
People from the Sikh community from various areas of Kashmir had reached Srinagar to attend the special prayers at Chattipadhshai.
On the occasion, the people highlighted the teachings and practices of Guru Gobind Singh Ji who they said taught humanity the essence of human love and sacrifice for the ultimate success.
The management of the Chattipadhshahi Gurudwara as well as the district administration of Srinagar had put in place the necessary arrangements to facilitate the devotees particularly keeping in view the COVID situation.
On the occasion, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Army’s 15 Corps in Srinagar, Lieutenant General DP Pandey also reached Chattipadhshahi to seek the blessings.
Pandey said that he has been fortunate enough to have been able to offer prayers at the Gurudwara and that he was trying for last some time to make it to Chattipadhshahi.
“I have gone everywhere, be it a masjid, a shrine, but was so far unable to come here, and today I think, I am fortunate to have finally made it,” he said.
The GOC on the occasion appealed to the youth to ‘return’ from the negative narrative and join the path of peace, development.
On the occasion, LG Manoj Sinha also extended his greeting on Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s birth anniversary.
