Gurupurab celebrated at Baba Chanda Singh Gurudwara

JAMMU, Jan 10: Like other parts of the country and J&K, Parkash Parv of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji was celebrated with gaiety and religious fervor at Gurudwara Baba Chanda Singh Ji, Jain Bazar , Jammu by the management committee of the Gurudwara.
Sangat from surrounding areas of Jammu city from all castes, creed religion reached Gurudwara and paid obeisance and listened the Gurbani Path. Guru ka Langar was also distributed amongst the Sangat and public in general.
On the Occasion Ragi Bhai Ranjeet Singh and Jatha, Bhai Parveen Singh recited the Kirtan. While speaking on the occasion Sukhbir Singh, president of Parbandhak Committee of the Gurudwara threw light on the life and teachings of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj, describing him a saint soldier and a poet who took sword to fight against the oppression and infused martial spirit among the people by soul inspiring heroic poetry. It is said that great Guru showed the path of righteousness, brotherhood and compassion to people during turbulent times.
He also welcomed the Jan 9 decision of Union Government for declaring December 26 as ‘Veer Baal Diwas.’ On this day in 1705, Chote Sahibzadas of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj, aged 9 years and 6 years, had attained martyrdom.
On the occasion the Sangat appealed to the Government for allotment of land for reconstructiohistorical Gurudwara Charan Kamal Asthan Guru Nanak Sahib Ser Manjila Tehsil Ramnagar in district Udhampur which was damaged in 1984; declare Punjabi as one of official languages in J&K UT and implement Minority Community Commission and Anand Marriage Act in J&K UT.
The office bearer including, Amarjeet Singh, Jagbir Singh, Janmeet Singh, Jagjeet Singh, Bikram Singh, Jagdeep Singh, Jasmeet Singh and Dr. Tejinder Singh were also present on the occasion.
