Nepal sends aid to Afghanistan

Kathmandu, Jan 16: Nepal on Sunday sent about 12 tons of humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, including medicines, garments and utensils, the country’s foreign minister said.
Foreign Minister Narayan Khadka called it Nepal’s “moral responsibility” to offer aid to Afghanistan, a fellow member of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation, where he said droughts have affected food production and freezing winter is making life difficult.
A chartered flight of the Himalaya Airlines, a Nepal-China joint venture, flew to Kabul of Afghanistan on the day with the goods, the airport confirmed.
