LEH, Jan 20: Due to Covid pandemic, Investiture Ceremony for the 1st State Award has been postponed to February while the Award amount is transferred to bank accounts of the awardees.
The 1st State Awards for UT of Ladakh were announced on the occasion of last year’s Republic Day on 26 January 2021 where 16 individuals and organisations were announced to be honoured with the Awards.
These awards were scheduled to be conferred in a separate Investiture Ceremony to be held in Dec 2021-Jan 2022. However, because of the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony could not be held and the same is now proposed to be held at any time in February 2022. During the function medal and citations would be conferred upon the State Awardees.
Due to postponement, the cash prize of Rs 51,000/- (Rupees fifty one thousand only) has been credited in the bank accounts of all the State Awardees of the year 2021.
