JAMMU, Jan 25: Describing BJP as anti- SC/ST/OBC and other weaker sections, former BJP MLA from Chenani Dina Nath Bhagat today said that “Sab Ka Sath, Sab Ka Vikas, Sab ka Vishwas” are mere hollow slogans and Congress is the only viable alternative to the anti- people policies of BJP.
Dina Nath, Ex-MLA along with other several prominent people joined into the Congress party in presence of JKPCC chief G A Mir and working president Raman Bhalla, vice president Mula Ram, general secretaries Yogesh Sawhney and Manmohan Singh, Balbir Singh (EX-MLA) and others.
Others who joined include Sham Lal, Mohd Javed Malik, Sameer Malik, Rafia Malik, Sahil Malik, Tayub Malik and others. They expressed full faith on the policies and programmes of Congress party and its leadership Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
Mir while welcoming them said that Congress Party is an instrument of service to the people, which has remained dedicated to the cause of serving the people. He said Congress party believes in strengthening the people and is committed to equitable development of the State. He said Congress Party is duty bound to address the urges and aspirations of the people, for the fact, it is the Congress Party alone which has always taken care of the urges and aspirations of the people. He alleged that BJP has proved failure on every front.
He described BJP dispensation as anti-poor and anti development, saying due to administrative inertia and lack of political direction the sufferings of the people increased manifold. The insensitive Government pushed people to the wall, as unemployment has increased, prices have risen and developmental activities have suffered a lot.
Raman Bhalla said that the people of Jammu region feel utterly cheated and betrayed for the failure of BJP leaders to represent and agitate their concerns. Bhalla said that people who want to contribute to the political discourse and development of the state must become part of the Congress’s growth story. The doors are open for the people who want to contribute in the party’s efforts to see the state out of the present mess,” he said.
Former BJP MLA said that the reasons for his quitting the ruling party was it’s double standards especially on the issues of Dalit Samaj and weaker sections, as there is lot of difference in the narrative and implementation of big and hollow slogans of BJP and Modi Government.
Bhagat said he was in touch with former MLA Billawar Thakur Balbir Singh and realized the reality as he failed to get justice for the people he represents. He said Congress is the only viable alternative and a strong platform for each and every section of the society.
