Ailing hospital

Sir,
Refer news item ‘Mortality at GB Pant Hospital increases, admission fall’ DE Aug 7.
There is something seriously wrong with the hospital that mortality rate continues to increase despite upgrading infrastructure and increasing staff strength.
Mere machines won’t do the job. Machines are one of the components of presiding proper health care to people. But it is men behind machines who play an important role in this endeavour. It is to be seen whether people who handle these machines or do allied jobs have the competence and are wedded to professionalism. It is for the hospital administration to look every aspect  of the situation, find loopholes, and at the same time plug them effectively.
In case such a thing does not happen, people will stop visiting the hospital as can be concluded from the falling admissions.
It is a serious matter which entails no loss of time or administrative intervention.
Yours etc…..
