DCC launches membership drive

JAMMU, Jan 27: District Congress Committee (DCC) Jammu Rural today initiated membership drive at Block Bhalwal and Block Pata- Paloura of Raipur Domana Assembly constituency.
On the occasion, Mula Ram former minister and PCC vice president, Hari Singh Chib president DCC Jammu Rural, Uday Bhanu Chib president Youth Congress J&K and Jung Bahadur Sharma, Block president Bhalwal were present.
Addressing Party leaders and workers, Mula Ram said that the membership drive should reach to common man and it should be completed by l February 15. He said common man has been suffering due to mis-governance of Central Government and people want a change now. He said BJP has failed on all fronts. Price hike remains uncontrolled, unemployment reached its peak and anti employees, anti traders, anti poor people politics of the BJP have proved devastating.
Hari Singh said that after abrogation of Art 370 the situation has gone from bad to worse with the common man feeling choked due to anti-people policies of the BJP Govt. He said that BJP’s promise to regularize the services of all daily wagers casual, adhoc, contractual and other temporary employees with different nomenclatures but failed to fulfill the same thus proving beyond doubt that this Govt is a ‘Jumla Sarkar’. He urged the people to join Congress party in its endeavor to defeat the policies of BJP Govt.
Uday Bhanu Chib said that youth of J&K have been the worst victim of the wrong policies of the BJP Govt. He rued that the tall promises and claims made by those in governance at the Centre have proved totally hoax with unemployment graph showing an increase with each passing day and terrorists still calling the shots especially in the Valley. He appealed to the youth to get united and teach BJP a lesson in the forthcoming Assembly elections in J&K.
Earlier, the Congress leaders distributed booklets of membership drive among party cadre so that maximum number of people should be part of this party. Prominent among others present on the occasion were Rajinder Kumar, Kuldeep Kumar Chairman, BDC Bhalwal Ram Pal, Rana Partap Singh Sarpanch Gharota, Kulbhushan Singh, Balkar Singh, Faqir Chand and others.
