JAMMU, Jan 28: For promotion of commercial floriculture in Jammu and Kashmir, the Union Territory Government today constituted a committee.
Headed by Principal Secretary, Agriculture, Production & Farmers Welfares Department, the committee shall draft an action plan for promotion of commercial floriculture in view of various parameters like climatic conditions, geographical location, suitability of crops etc in J&K.
The 11-member committee shall submit a proposal/action plan within 30 days to the Government. Commissioner Secretary, Floriculture, Parks & Gardens Department; DG Horticulture Kashmir; Director Agriculture Kashmir; Director Floriculture Kashmir/Jammu; Extension Officer, SKUAST Jammu/Kashmir are among members of the committee.
