UDHAMPUR, Aug 8: Udhampur Police today seized 1.3 kgs of Poppy Straw (Bhuki) from a truck and also arrested the driver who was smuggling the contraband from Kashmir to Jammu.
Acting on reliable information, Police party intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02A-0785 near Jakheni. During thorough search of the truck, 1.3 kgs of Poppy Straw was recovered.
The accused driver namely Sat Pal of Gadhal, Reasi, who was transporting poppy straw from Kashmir valley to Jammu, was arrested and the vehicle seized.
A case has been registered in this connection under NDPS Act at Police Station Udhampur.
