KATHUA, Jan 29: The residents of Kathua town held a protest against the alleged misconduct of a police Sub Inspector with a local person. The local people led by Municipal Council Kathua, president ,Naresh Sharma assembled at Main Chowk and raised protest against the police.
President MC Kathua, Naresh Sharma alleged that a Sub Inspector, Riaz Ahmed on duty in Main Chowk Kathua misbehaved with him and also with local people. He said the police Inspector fined Rs 200 to a local youth without any reason. But issued receipt of only Rs 100.
When the youth objected against it, the Inspector snatched the fine receipt and asked him to leave the place.  Another person tractor driver was also stopped and slapped by the cop when he refused to pay any fine without any reason.
When president MC Kahtua, Naresh Sharma came to know of the misconduct of police Inspector he reached on the spot with complainants and asked the inspector about misconduct.
The Inspector also misbehaved with prominent citizen and MC president, Naresh Sharma. Naresh Sharma immediately called to SSP Kathua RC Kotwal and narrated the whole story. The DySP Shammi Kumar along with SHO Kathua and police team reached on the spot and pacified the irate people . He assured the enquiry into the matter.
