KATHUA, Jan 29: In order to take strict action against illegal mining within the district, Kathua Police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal today seized four vehicles along with one JCB Machine indulged in illegal mining and illegal transportation of construction material in the jurisdictional area of Kathua and Lakhanpur Police Stations.
Police said today a team headed by Inspector, Rajesh Kumar IC PP Nagri in its jurisdictional area found three dumpers along with one JCB machine indulged in illegal mining which were being used for illegal transportation of construction material. While in another instance police team led by PSI Neeraj Parihar IC Police Post (PP) Basantpur in its jurisdictional area near Basantpur seized one more vehicle (Tractor Trolley) indulged in illegal mining which was being used for illegal transportation of construction material. Meanwhile, all the four vehicles along with one JCB machine indulged in illegal mining were seized and were immediately handed over to the officials of Mining Department Kathua for further legal proceedings.
