Samba police rescues 10 bovines , seizes 2 vehicles

SAMBA, Jan, 29: District Police Samba today foiled two consecutive attempts to smuggle bovines by rescuing 10 bovines in two separate incidents in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal.
Acting on reliable information regarding smuggling of bovines, a police party of PS Ghagwal established a random check point near Nonath Ashram, NHW Ghagwal and while vehicle checking, signaled to stop a Mahindra Vehicle without Registration Number coming from Jammu side.
Instead of stopping the vehicle, the driver accelerated the speed and crossed the check point. The alert naka party successfully chased the vehicle and intercepted it at few meters away but the driver managed to escape from spot taking advantage of the darkness.
On checking the vehicle, five bovines were found laden inside without any proper permission.
A case FIR No. 14/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
All the bovines were rescued and then shifted to a safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovine was also seized on spot.
In another incident, a police party of PS Ghagwal rescued five more bovines near Nonath Ashram, NHW Ghagwal which were being transported in a Mahindra vehicle which was also without Registration Number coming from Jammu side. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized on spot.
A case FIR No. 15/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
