Srinagar, Jan 30: Police in Srinagar today said to have arrested a fraudster for duping people on the pretext of providing jobs in airlines at Srinagar airport.
In this connection, police said that on 29/01/2022, Police Station Shergarhi received a complaint from Umar Ali resident of Shalpora Allochibagh alleging that he has been cheated by Mushtaq Ahmad son of Mohd Ashraf Janjoo resident of Frestwar Khansahab Budgam on the pretext of providing a job in airlines at Srinagar Airport.
“He further alleged that he had paid an amount of Rs 93,900 to the said tout,” police said.
Subsequently, police said, a case vide FIR No. 16/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered and the investigation was initiated.
During the investigation, police said, the accused was arrested and with the assistance of technical support of Cyber Police an amount of Rs 58,800 has been recovered.
“Investigations also revealed that there are several other persons who have been cheated on the pretext of being provided with jobs by the accused person,” police said.
Police said that further investigation into the matter is in progress.
