JAMMU, Jan 31: Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) today staged protest at Parade Chowk against Tamil Nadu Government on suicide of class 12th student who died after ‘forced conversion’.
Lavanya, a student of Sacred Hearts High School in Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu, died due to the intolerable torture she received from two nuns of the School who pressurised her for converting to Christianity on January 24.
The ABVP strongly condemned the incident and demanded from the Government to conduct a fair and transparent investigation into the suicide of the student.
J&K unit secretary Mukesh Manhas said that the suicide of a girl student in Tamil Nadu is heartbreaking. We are in this fight for justice. We stand with the family of the deceased.
They also demanded a proper and transparent enquiry should be conducted by appointing an IPS officer as investigation officer.
Ramnik Sharma, Chahat Anand, Abhishek Sharma, Meetali Sharma, Natesh Dalmotra, Anit Singh, Kannu, Ashita, Anjali, Priya, Vikrant, Shivam, Vikrant, Abhishek and Anubav were present during the protest.
