JAMMU, Feb 1: A delegation of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee led by its president Roshan Lal Raina and chairman, Ravinder Bakshi called on Chief Secretary, Arun Kumar Mehta and apprised him the problems of the migrants in general and displaced employees in particular.
As per a release, the delegation appealed the CS not to cancel the deployment of migrant government teachers in Relief Organisation by sending them back to Migrant Cell or camp schools. They said these teachers remain totally idle in Migrant Cell where there is no work and by deploying them in Relief Organisation they are serving the Government and people. The delegation said that there is no logic in cancellation of the deployment of migrant employees who are serving in various departments. By deploying these employees in Relief Organisation which is facing the shortage of staff the services of these employees can be utilised for welfare of migrants.
Both Raina and Bakshi also appealed Chief Secretary to issue directives to concerned officers in Education Department not to stop the salaries of these teachers. They said that migrant schools are already overcrowded with the staff and deployment of the teachers in Relief organisation will in no way affect the functioning of these schools. A memorandum was also given to Chief Secretary who assured the delegation that the issue will be settled.
