JAMMU, Feb 3: In a big achievement, Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Corporation (JKPDC) has accomplished the task of commissioning of much awaited Line In Line Out (LILO) of 400 KV Kishanpur New Wanpoo Line at Baglihar Hydro Electric (HE) Project, which was pending since 2016.
The task has been completed through in-house competence under the guidance of Niteshwar Kumar, Principal Secretary, JKPDD, Raja Taqoob (Managing Director JKPDC) and Raheela Wani (Executive Director (JKPDC).
With the commissioning of LILO, power can be transmitted from the Project to Kashmir directly. The LILO will ensure redundancy of power flow to Kashmir and Jammu regions in case there is breakdown of Baglihar-Kishenpur transmission line.
A spokesperson of JKPDC said that overcoming all hurdles amidst COVID-19 outbreak, arrangement of material, ensuring availability of shutdown, testing of signals, maintaining synchronization between Kishenpur-Baglihar-Wanpoh, COVID appropriate behavior as per Government norms and directives were some of the key challenges addressed during the completion process of the task.
He said that round-the-clock work and dedicated efforts of all the personnel involved in the process made the commissioning of LILO of 400 KV Kishanpur New Wanpoo Line possible. He added that Principal Secretary JKPDD personally monitored the whole process and ensured that the LILO is completed.
