JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Feb 3: Jammu and Kashmir today reported seven COVID casualties and 1982 fresh cases while the Union Territory of Ladakh recorded one death and 214 new cases.
Five deaths and 694 cases were registered in Jammu division and two deaths and 1288 cases were reported in Kashmir.
One person each tested positive for COVID-19 at Jammu Club and Hotel Radisson Blue while two others were found infected near Hotel Fortune. Seven persons tested positive at Narwal Sabzi Mandi.
Out of five fatalities in Jammu, one each were reported from Jammu, Samba, Reasi, Udhampur and Poonch districts.
A 65-year-old partially vaccinated man from Swankha in Samba district and 90-year-old male from Gulabgarh Mahore in Reasi district died of COVID-19 and other ailments in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu. The man from Swankha was partially vaccinated while Gulabgarh male was fully vaccinated.
The Gulabgarh man had received serious injuries in fall and had tested positive for the virus during treatment.
A 75-year-old man from Chatha in Jammu district, who was fully vaccinated but co-morbid, breathed his last in Narayana hospital Katra while 82-year-old fully vaccinated man with multiple ailments passed away in Command Hospital Udhampur.
An 80-year-old man hailing from village Kalaban in Poonch district died of ailments and COVID-19 at the District Hospital Poonch. He was also co-morbid.
Among 694 COVID positive cases, 310 were reported from Jammu district, 76 in Doda, 74 Udhampur, 62 Kathua, 45 Ramban, 34 Samba, 28 Kishtwar, 26 Rajouri, 21 Poonch and 18 in Reasi district.
As against 694 cases, 1554 recovered from the virus leaving number of active positive cases in Jammu division to 7682.
Meanwhile, the Union Territory of Ladakh today reported one casualty and 214 new cases.
A 70-year-old woman from Chuchot Gongma in Leh district died of COVID-19.
The fresh casualty has taken Corona toll in Ladakh to 226 including 167 in Leh and 59 in Kargil.
Out of 214 cases, 106 were reported from Leh district and 108 in Kargil.
Ladakh now has 1140 active positive cases—698 in Leh and 442 in Kargil.
Manwhile, Kashmir today recorded lowest COVID cases after three weeks with 1288 testing positive for the infection, while two infected persons succumbed.
With fresh deaths, the J&K toll has reached 4699 including 2400 in Kashmir.
Those who tested positive include 413 from Srinagar, 253 from Baramulla, 116 from Budgam, 44 from Pulwama, 230 from Kupwara, 71 from Anantnag, 56 from Bandipora, 44 from Ganderbal, 47 from Kulgam and 14 Shopian.
As per officials figures, 100,369 cases including 903 deaths and 91,406 recoveries are from Srinagar, 37,044 including 303 deaths and 33,091 recoveries are from Baramulla, 34,185 including 32,536 recoveries and 228 deaths are from Budgam, 18,185 including 17,464 recoveries and 200 deaths are from Pulwama, 21,239 including 172 deaths and 20,264 recoveries are from Kupwara, 22,071 including 19,723 recoveries and 218 deaths are from Anantnag, 13,397 cases including 12,637 and 114 deaths are from Bandipora, 13,401 including 12,925 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Ganderbal, 16,019 including 14,699 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Kulgam and 6,223 including 5,899 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Shopian.
With the fresh cases, the number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 282,189 including 260,760 recoveries and 2,400 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 26,711 including 19,029 from Kashmir division.
With 5,093 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 411,052 which is 92.90 percent of the total cases.
