Nursing aspirants rue delay in recruitment process by SKIMS

Srinagar, Feb 5: The nursing aspirants of the SKIMS, Soura today said that they have been left in a lurch as the hospital administration is not coming out with the final selection list regarding the staff nurses posts that were advertised way back in June 2020.
The aggrieved nurses told Excelsior that the notification was issued on June 26, 2020, and after a delay of at least 4 months, the examination for the post of staff nurses was held.
“However, since then they are continuously delaying the entire process; it was so much delayed, that we had no hopes of witnessing any further progress, but then in October 2021, the merit list was issued,” said one of the aspirants.
The aspirants said that they have been caught in a lurch and are not able to decide on the future course of action.
“We are not going for further studies, because we feel that our career hangs in balance due to the undue delay caused by the SKIMS in the recruitment process,” the aspirants said.
The nursing aspirants said that more than 5 months have passed since the merit list was issued while the SKIMS authorities continue to resort to the delay tactics for unknown reasons.
“If they have issued the merit list, what is stopping them from bringing out the final list; in this regard, we also met the former Director Dr A.G.Ahangar, but then he said that he has no powers; we even met the new Director who said that the final list will be published in a week, but there seems no end to the undue delay,” the aspirants said.
It is to be noted here that there are 25 posts of the staff nurses Grade-II that are to be filled and for which at least 100 candidates have appeared in the exams. There are other categories of the posts as well while the candidates said that everyone is witnessing undue delay.
The aspirants have appealed to the higher-ups to look into the matter direct the SKIMS to speed up the process of recruitment so that their career is not jeopardized.
