JAMMU, Feb 6: BJP secretary Rekha Mahajan today said the Government at the Centre under Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is genuinely concerned for the safety and security of the people living along the India-Pakistan borders as well as welfare of the farmers.
She said concrete bunkers have been constructed in border villages, where people can shift their families to escape firing from across the borders. Today border areas have better road connectivity and other means of communication, she added.
Rekha Mahajan, secretary Jammu and Kashmir BJP and Akhnoor district Prabhari, said this while interacting with the inhabitants of Khour Mandal, along with party activists of the area.
Rekha said that majority of the people living along the borders belong to the farming community and various schemes launched for the farmers by Modi Government from time to time are also reaching them.
The farmers are getting financial assistance under PM Kissan Samman Nidhi and in this year’s budget, a provision of Rs 68 thousand crore has been made, which is more than the previous year. This will give direct benefit to about 11 crore farmers of the country, including Jammu and Kashmir, she added.
Rekha further said that the Union Government has resolved to develop the villages on India’s borders, for which holistic approach is adopted. Such villages will have electricity, water and others facilities. For this purpose, a special provision has been made in the budget, she added.
She said that the PM in his Atam Nirbhar Arthvyavstha address, mentioned that in the last budget, the Government ensured the facility of Kissan Rail and Kissan Udan and now Kisan Drone is going to be the new companion of the farmers. Through Drone technology real time data of production will also be available.
Narinder Singh Bhau, State Executive Member, district vice president Anu Manhas, Sukhdev Singh, Mandal president Khour, Balinder Singh, Mandal president Pargwal, Deepak Singh corporator, Depty Ram, Chairman Municipality Khour, Capt (retd) Yashpal Singh (Sarpanch), Arjun Pandit, Capt (retd) Shamsher Singh, Ward members and others were present on the occasion.
