Committee gets extension to recommend amendments in Building Bye Laws

JAMMU, Feb 7: The special session of General House of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) here today gave a three month extension to the Committee constituted for submission of suggestions, observations and recommendations for amendments in Unified Building Bye Laws 2021.
A handout of JMC stated that extension to the Committee will give it more time to take more suggestions from the Councillors of each Ward and submit recommendations to the House for its approval so that JMC can provide better facilities to the public of Jammu.
The Committee was constituted in the previous special session of the House which was held on December 20 last year when during discussion on Bye Laws many suggestions were made by Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Chairpersons of the Standing Committees and Councillors.
Deputy Mayor, Advocate Purnima Sharma was made Chairperson of the Committee while Councillors-Rajinder Sharma, Pawan Singh, Suneet Kumar Raina and officers of JMC and other line departments like Chief Town Planner, JMC; DLR, JMC; Chief Architect, J&K and Architect (Technical Officer to Director, Local Bodies) were made its members.
The special session of today was chaired by JMC Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta and Co-chaired by Deputy Mayor, Purnima Sharma and Commissioner JMC, Avny Lavasa while the Chairpersons of JMC Standing Committees, Councillors and senior officers of JMC were also present in it.
