JAMMU, June 5: Newly elected Pradesh Youth Congress president, Shah Nawaj Choudhary was accorded warn reception by Youth Congress leaders and activists after his arrival at the airport here from New Delhi today.
As Mr Choudhary reached the Jammu airport at around 9.20 am this morning, a large number of Youth Congress leaders including Manjit Singh Jat, Varinder Singh Chib-both PYC general secretaries, Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha Constituency Youth Congress president, Pankaj Basotra, NSUI president Udhay Chib and several Assembly presidents and committee members, who were already waiting for him, garlanded him profusely and started raising slogans in support of their leader.
Apparently cheerful and full of enthusiasm, the Youth Congress activists took him outside the airport in the form of a rally. They had also arranged drum beaters to mark the celebrations. The PYC leader was mounted on a decorated open jeep. Accompanied by other PYC leaders on the vehicle, the car/ motor-cycle victory rally then started for the PCC headquarters at Shahidi Chowk.
The newly elected president was accorded warm reception enroute PCC headquarters. At Satwari Chowk, Raipur Domana Constituency president and other activists gave rousing reception and later at Gandhinagar near Women College and Bikram Chowk, the concerned Committee members of the Assembly segment gave warm reception to Shah Nawaj. A large number of Youth Congress activists led by Satish Sharma, Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha constituency president, accorded reception to Shah Nawaj at Shahidi Chowk.
In his address to the Youth Congress activists, Shah Nawaj expressed his gratitude for the kind support to the delegates and others in the party. He said that he would try his best to come to the expectations of all and would like to move forward for the common goal of IYC to strengthen party along with his team members. He said the priorities of the PYC leaders are common and new team will function collectively to strengthen party at grass-root level.
Besides him, Satish Sharma, Pankaj Basotra, Reyaz ( LS Committee member from Kargil-Leh), Manjit Singh Jat and Ravinder Singh Chib also addressed the gathering and expressed their resolve to strengthen party and spread policies and programmes of Congress among the masses.
