Bicycles worth lakhs burnt in fire

SAMBA, Feb 9: Bicycles worth lakhs of rupees were burnt to ashes due to a short circuit in a three-storied bicycle shop in Ghagwal town last night.
According to the information received, a devastating fire broke out around 11:00 pm late last night in the shop. The fire fighters of the Fire Brigade Department rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control, but by then the goods kept in the shop were completely burnt. Not only this, the electrical fittings and other items in the shop were also badly damaged.
While giving information, the owner of the shop, Trilok Raj alias Kaka son of Charanjit Lal resident Tapyal said that he had closed the shop at 7:00 pm and the shop caught fire at 11 pm. The owner of the dhaba in front of the shop informed the Ghagwal police and the owner of the shop about the fire incident. Police and fire fighters who reached the spot tried to extinguished the fire.
